Install the free plugin
- In WordPress, go to Plugins, Add New, and search for Forge AI Bot Log. Click Install, then Activate.
- Open Forge AI Bot Log in the left-hand menu. The dashboard is empty until the first bot visits, which usually happens within an hour on any public site.
- If you see a yellow notice saying your bot counts are probably low, your site uses a cache. That is normal; see Caching and low counts.
Add Pro
- Buy Pro. You will receive a download link and a licence key by email.
- In WordPress, go to Plugins, Add New, Upload Plugin, and choose the zip file you downloaded. Activate it.
- Enter your licence key when asked. Updates then arrive through WordPress like any other plugin.
- Two new items appear under Forge AI Bot Log: AI Referrals and Pro Settings. Bot visits already collected by the free plugin are pulled into the reports straight away; visitors appear as they happen.
- Open Pro Settings once. The plugin checks whether your site is cached and chooses the right tracking method itself. The basics are all most sites need.
Finding your way around
| Screen | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | Bot visit totals, a chart by bot type, the most active bots and most-visited pages. With Pro, visitors sent by AI too. |
| Activity Log | Every bot visit, with filters and CSV export. |
| Bot Directory | Who runs each bot and what it does. |
| Access Control | Block bots. |
| Settings | Recording, emails, which bots to record, cache advice, log import. |
| AI Referrals (Pro) | Visitors sent by AI, with tabs for overview, by page, by assistant and bot, and the visitor log. |
| Pro Settings (Pro) | The basics, your site’s cache status, and an Advanced section for complete counts. |
Testing it yourself
Visits from anyone logged in to the site are left out on purpose, so your own clicks do not pollute the numbers. To see a test visit, open a private window or log out first. Ask an assistant a question that leads to your site and click through, then check the visitor log.
