The free plugin does one job thoroughly: it tells you which AI bots read your site, proves they are who they say they are, and gives you the switch to turn them away.
Visits in the last 24 hours, 7 days and 30 days, a chart of visits per day split by bot type, the most active bots and the pages they read most. Addresses that point to the same page are counted together, so /about/ and /about/?ref=1 are one row.

Verified, Spoofed or Unverified
Any script can send the name “GPTBot”. Most bot trackers take it at face value. Forge AI Bot Log checks each visit against the IP ranges OpenAI, Anthropic and Perplexity publish, and by forward-confirmed reverse DNS for Google, Apple, Amazon and Meta. A visit that claims to be a known bot but comes from somewhere else is marked Spoofed. Bots whose owners publish no way to check are marked as such rather than guessed at.

Twenty-four crawlers from sixteen companies, each explained in plain words: who runs it, whether it reads pages live, crawls for AI search or collects for training, whether it obeys robots.txt, and how to block it. Two robots.txt opt-out names, Google-Extended and Applebot-Extended, are listed too, and labelled honestly as opt-outs rather than bots.
One switch per bot. Blocking adds a rule to your site’s robots.txt automatically. For the bots known to ignore robots.txt, the plugin writes an Apache .htaccess block for you to paste in. The preview shows exactly what your robots.txt will say.

A monthly summary on the 1st, and a one-off alert the first time a bot you have never seen before turns up. Both can be turned off.
Complete counts on cached sites
Caching plugins and managed hosts serve saved copies of your pages without running WordPress, which hides bot visits from any plugin. Forge AI Bot Log detects your cache, tells you plainly that counts will be low, and gives you two ways to fix it: the list of bot names to exclude from the cache, or an import of your server’s log file.
