What it does
Not a crawler. Applebot-Extended is a name you can use in robots.txt to say whether Apple may use pages collected by Applebot to train its AI models. The pages themselves are fetched by Applebot, so this entry never records visits. Blocking it does not stop Applebot powering Siri and Spotlight.
How Forge AI Bot Log checks it
Visits are checked by reverse DNS against Apple's domains.
Should you block it?
Block it if you do not want your pages training Apple's models. Siri and Spotlight are unaffected. Blocking Applebot-Extended takes one switch in Forge AI Bot Log's Access Control screen. The plugin adds the rule to your robots.txt for you.
