What it does
Apple's crawler. It powers Siri and Spotlight suggestions, and unless you block Applebot-Extended, Apple may also use what it collects to train its AI models.

Visits are checked by reverse DNS against Apple's domains.
Should you block it?
Most sites should allow it and use Applebot-Extended to opt out of training instead. Blocking Applebot takes one switch in Forge AI Bot Log's Access Control screen. The plugin adds the rule to your robots.txt for you.
